Rarity class on this desk is a sentence: closed or open census, plate ID unique or repeated, stamp family original or restamped. It is not a heat score. If a Krakoa-era cover is loud in May, that fact does not appear in the readout.
Collectors sometimes ask us to “confirm it is ultra rare” before a purchase. We will confirm marks. We will not supply an adjective you can paste into a resale caption. If the class is common, the letter says common. That sentence has ended more than one viewing politely.
A mild test we use: if removing the gold stamp would not change the interior, the stamp was decoration. Pay for the plate. Argue about the stamp later, on your own time.
When a holder refuses to show the gutter, the class stays provisional and we will not recommend a premium. Silence is not mystique. It is a missing field.
